I am a late 80s-born laser scientist living in the greater Boston area with a passion for woodworking, boatbuilding and photography. Originally from the west coast of France, I am inevitably drawn to the North Atlantic ocean. In this blog, I tell the tales of my rebuilding of Copycat and my adventures alongside her. I may veer off topic and report on my experiments with bird watching and analog photography or even other boat adjacent creative activities.
Copycat is a 18 foot Marshall Sanderling catboat built in 1977 that I acquired in 2026. I have undertaken the journey to restore her into a seaworthy condition, capable of taking exploring the wonderful coast of Massachusetts as she was initially intended.
